Dragon Princes, Dragons, Fire Mage, and Imrik himself are just crazy good, especially against the hordes of goblins and clanrats the game keeps throwing at you. Hopefully once he's finally gone I'll be able to stabilize, push north to take out Rictus, and then go raiding/sacking the orc cities to fund my taking over Ulthuan.Īs for Imrik, his army is basically unbeatable as long as you manually play the battles out. He's got a lot of stacks but they burn easily enough. Second time through I'm making a beeline for Snikch. ![]() Had to abandon my first run as Grimgor/Rictus/Snikch kept playing "take the settlement Imrik isn't at" and I couldn't even keep my starting province intact. Especially when they hate you, which they will. You will have dealt with the greenskins or skaven and anything else will be a cakewalk.Īlso, using influence on non-HE factions is really expensive. So you have to first secure the mountains.īy that time, when you finally have some real choice for trade, you don't need it anymore. You can't really beeline for the port because that leaves an incredibly long border to defend against enemies with underway stance that will be much faster than you. And if you don't take Barak Varr, you can always just take one of the uninhabitable ports. The Border Princes in my 2 campaigns apparently had nothing to do so they immediately went crusading against me. Barak Varr is difficult because they will likely ally with Thorgrimm and the Border Princes. Some orcs in the badlands or Barak Varr, or you push towards one of the ports and can finally trade with everyone. Once you push through them you can finally find some trade partners. But you can't really trade with them because they really hate your guts and they are blocking your expansion. Karak Azul will most likely die while you deal with Eshin, which leaves either Grimgor or Queek. But they likely will stay at 1 settlement and that doesn't bring much trade revenue. Clan Helheim is defensive and you can peace out and trade and military access when you sack their last settlement. I usually only got either one of them to agree to trade though.Ĭlan Rictus to the north might be a potential trade partner but you could also take his province and trade with the dwarfs. There's Khalida and KroqGar to the south. Malus is aggressive and you kind of need his ports. Who would you trade with? Eshin has to die, there's no other way to survive. I'm going to try a second run being more aggressive with the rats to purge them early and build a stronger base to deal with whatever comes out of the western mountains It's been constantly on the back foot and I'm loving it. I get constantly attacked by everyone with armies 3-10x my size, but the dragons go roar roar Doesn't help that I can't trade with anyone (that needs to be fixed, if I have a port I should be able to trade with anyone that has one, despite the map not showing the oceans as connecting) My holds continually rebel and my economy sucks. The lands around Imrik are poor, full of corruption, with no natural allies and surrounded by enemies (dawi, greenskin, skaven, undead, dark elves.). Being ambushed by 9000 skaven with my 1200 men army is so much fun. Imrik, the mage, the dragon princes and the dragons are hilariously OP and can get rid of entire armies by themselves. I'm loving this campaign, although I just had to abandon one run as I was broke, Morathi took Ulthuan and the Dawi invaded my lands with 4 full stacks after I finally got rid of Eshin's 6 eternally returning stacks with my one army I'm on Very hard (campaign) and normal (battle) Think we missed one?
